Hi!:(

Here is my computer information:

Machine Name: eMac Power Mac G4 Mac OS X (10.4.8) 1 GB DDR SDRAM - Macintosh startup Disk - (1) CPU - 1.42 GHz - L2 Cache 512 KB - 1GB memory Bus Speed 167 MHz - Boot ROM Version 4.9.2f1

I am operating iPhoto 5.0.4

Here is my problem:

'Your thumbnails need to be upgraded'

With those dreaded words, my iPhoto cannot be opened.

I have read many threads and looked thru many questions and answers.
I purchased my eMac about 16 months ago. I have installed all of the recommended free software updates that Mac sends me by email notice.
I never had a problem with iPhoto until today.
I had just finished moving files from Pictures to Desktop when I tried to open iPhoto from my Toolbar icon.
'Your thumbnails need to be upgraded' appeared.
I tried clicking on continue.
The window closed and the little wheel on the Emac bus went "round and round" for a second or two.
Then iPhoto closed.
Since then, I have tried opening iPhoto and choosing 'Upgrade Later' when the evil 'Thumbnail' window appears, tried opening iPhoto by connecting my digital camera to download pictures, checked for problems with my startup disc and other disc with Disk Utility in the Utilities folder located in the Applications folder (no problems were detected or corrected), I even went back & installed all free software updates for iPhoto 5.0.....

HELP!

What happens when you click on System Preferences/Software Update? iPhoto updates will show, if needed.

Matt

Thank you Matt - I checked again but got 'no software update needed'.
Here is the what the Report says, in part, when I open it:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) x ) Oxffffffce
