Ave,
I have Adobe Photoshop CS and Macromedia Studio MX 2004 installed on my PowerMac G5 Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. I just recently got a 30 Day Trial DVD Set of the Adobe CS3 Master Collection Suite. I'd like to install & try it - but I don't want to remove or have any problems for my existing...
Ave,
Alright I download, compiled & installed the latest pure-ftpd ftp server from pureftpd.org .. and it seems to have started off ok.
Since there is no Leopard Compatible PureFTPD Manager out yet, I need to create/modify users manually. Does anyone know how to do that for Pure-FTPD FTP...
Ave,
I wrote a small AppleScript to mount network shares on share points. The scripts works fine in Panther (10.3) but does not work in Leopard (10.5).
Any clues how I can automate this following shell script:
(PS: I don't care if I use AppleScript, Automator, or something else - I just...
Ave,
I have two hard drives in my PowerMac G5 - One has Leopard (10.5) on it and one has Panther (10.3.9) on it. I dragged my folders that were on Panther onto my Leopard hard drive.
Now all those folders have screwed up permissions. Anytime I edit a file, it's either locked or I have to...
That Worked!! Well actually, what worked better was:
sudo -u www mount_smbfs -f 777 -d 777 //usr:pwd@ip/share node
But got that out of your suggestion. Man - Can't thank you enough!!!
Unfortunately my problems remains as it is :(
mount -t smbfs /user:pwd@ip/share sharepoint and several of it's combinations, including mount_smbfs /user:pwd@ip/share sharepoint ... that all work for Finder. They will mount the share and you case use the share just like any other folder in...
The Share Point in Leopard does not react the same way as the Share Point in previous mac's.
Somehow the Share Point in Leopard is giving permission denied whereas the exact same Share Point with exact same permissions, owners etcetera works fine in Panther. I don't know what they changed in...
Here's another way of explaining my problem.
In Panther, I was able to specify Apache Web Server to be the User/Group for the share being mounted with -u 70 -g 70 during mount_smbfs.
In Leopard I'm not able to do that because they eliminated the -u -g arguments for mount_smbfs - in fact...
I'm not quite sure what you're getting at.
I had a clean (erase & install) installation of Leopard. I do have etc/apache2/users which has a 'myusr.conf' with the following:
<Directory "/Users/myusr/Sites/">
Options Indexes MultiViews
AllowOverride None
Order allow,deny...
@ macbri,
The folder in which the files reside which I'm trying to access via PHP, "osm", is a Share Point which has a windows network share mounted on it (via SMB).
I'm not sure where the problems are in permissions, because while mounting,
I'm allowing full read/write permissions to...
Ave,
Somehow my PHP won't access, won't even acknowledge the existence of a file that is outside the /Library/WebServer/Documents folder. This was never a a problem before in any Mac version - it just started with Leopard.
I don't know what has changed where, in httpd.conf or php.ini or...
Ave,
I used to run Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther, and used a neat shell command to mount a Windows Share on a Share Point in my Mac. Using the Share Point, different PHP Scripts in my Web Sites hosted on my Apache Web Server were able to access the files on the windows share.
Following is the...
