Aperture 3, Low CPU High Mem

1GB Ram, newly installed 10.6.2, I use my Mac only as a media organizer,
System is terribly lagging when running Aperture only, check system stat,
CPU usage is seldom above 30%, RAM has less than 30MB left all the time,

Does it mean, the Aperture spends most time awapping data on the harddrive as virtual memory pages?

If so maybe I'll have to upgrade memory.

Definitely add more RAM. Apple says the general requirements for Snow Leopard is 1GB of memory (http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html), all though Aperture's minimum requirement is just 1 GB.

Regardless, add more RAM! It never hurts!

Yes. Try dealram.com. I've bought from 18004memory.com, OWC and Crucial.com before. You should find the best deals from dealram.

They are all US dealers, any idea how much duty Canadian Boarder will charge for around $100 purchase?
