application PrinterProxy has unexpectedly quit

I've started getting this message when printing.

The application PrinterProxy has unexpectedly quit.
The system and other applications have not been affected.

I tried deleting prefs and installed current driver etc but no luck. It prints one page jobs but no more. I noticed that someone on this forum had this error with OS 9 a year ago and fixed it with the prefs but I had no such luck with 10.3.9. My HP 2100M printer still prints but only 1 or 2 pages at a time and the queue ends up being screwed up.

Anyone got a fix?

Delete the printer, trash these Preferences files, restart and reinstall the printer and see if it works.

Sorry..thanks for your help but as I mentioned above I deleted all the prefs related to printing, deleted the printer and reinstalled the printer using the current HP drivers. Maybe this calls for Diskwarrior or Techtool :( Argh..... I guess I will go through all the troubleshooting steps again JUST to make sure. I'll report back.
