Attachments duplicated in Mail???

Friend of the elves
I found out that, when I send a message with Mail.app, cotaining one or more attached files, to a Windows PC (almost 95% of my e-mails are for Windows users), the attachments are duplicated, but the copy of each of the attachment is corrupt.
For an example, please take a look at the images attached to this post, where I show the mail I send and the mail the Windows PC receives.
I have also notice that, in some cases, the signature does not show in the body of the e-mail message, in the PC, but it comes attached as another file. This is really wired.

The 'ghost' files are so small that they hardly contain anything but the name. What happens if you try to open them?

Does this happen with all kind of attachments, or only with word files?

Do you use plain text or formatted text in your signature? If it's formatted text, and your email otherwise is plain text, it (the signature) may sometimes be seen as separate file. The same can happen with GPG signatures.
