can't Audio iChat w/ new cable internet

so I've yet to determine whether it's my cable internet connection that I just switched over to, or something I've failed to reset correctly on my router.

but when i try to connect and audio chat with a friend, it doesn't go through. (though Skype seems to work...)
is there a specific port on my router that I need to open, or forward?

anyone got any input here? I've got comcast cable internet if that makes any difference.

Sometimes it's the router. IT should work without it.

Otherwise, when trying iChat audio, open the Connection Doctor (from iChat menus) and see which ports it wants to use, and open those ports.

You need to forward ports on your Router for iChat, it works fine with Comcast. This page explains;

yeah, I thought it would just work as normal - didn't set anything up specifically before, and it worked fine.

could be the network of the guy I'm trying to connec to. will have to see if one of my other friends can audio ichat with me, and then I'll know it's not me...
