The computer boots up normally, then hours later this grey spinning icon appears. It's the icon that usually appears when the system is shutting down. After the spinning stops a blue screen appears with the pointer. I have to manually turn off the computer. When I power up later, everything reboots as usual.
For example: I was working in Photoshop the the spinning icon appeared, resulting in a blue screen with the pointer.
This blue screen has appeared 6 times in the past year. I read some of the posted blue screen problems, but I did not see one that was similar to my problem.
I've used the most recent version of Disk Warrior & I optimized the hard drive with TechTool, & also repaired permissions. Everything is working right now, but I would like to know what it causing this problem, so I can try to prevent this happening again.
