Connecting a Mac to a PC (sharing internet)

Hello,

A friend of mine has got a PC which has an internet connection through LAN. I was wondering if it is possible to create a wireless network so I could connect my macbook pro to that PC and be able to connect to the Internet through my friend's PC.

Sounds just like the situation I had - My girlfriend has a PC with a DSL modem on an ethernet cable. I have a Mac with a wireless card.
Solution: I picked up a wireless router from CompUSA ($20 after rebates) and connected it between the PC and the DSL modem. The router handles talking to the outside world and assigns 'local' IP addresses to the machines connected to it. My wireless utility program found the router instantly (plus 2 others in the neighborhood) Once you establish a simple connection you can add encryption and other security features.
