Does the hardware or software enable DVD/RW writing? The ONLY con I can find with the new 17 pb is that it cant write DVD/RWs. If it is indeed hardware could that be upgraded? And can the drive in its current state read DVD/RWs? Thanks

I wrote to a DVD-RW using my Superdrive-equipped iMac. I backed up my user folder onto it. I believe I did it with Finder.

[**Unverified tip:***] MacWorld (or MacAddict, I can't remember) had a tip about using DVD-RWs with iDVD. You have to first put in a DVD-R and then just before you click the burn button take the DVD-R out and replace it with the DVD-RW. I don't know if it works.

dktrickey...

What brand of DVD-RW do you burn too?? Have you done any using the TOAST program??

or just finder???

*havent tried finder*

but i am trying to burn ISOs images on dvd-rw.

I have written sucessfully to Apple DVD-R and non brand DVD-R. I would like to know what brand has been successful for DVD -RW (understand RW) using TOAST.
