DVD Writer

I (stupidly) bought a DVD+RW, it's now for sale and going to be replaced with a Pioneer DVD+/-RW drive.

I've found a local company selling this: Pioneer DVR-106 DVD +/-R/RW Ivory 4 speed IDE OEM [Drive only]

Can anyone tell me if this is the correct drive I've read about on other posts here.

It's going to go inside my external IDE - firewire case.

Oh yeah, when I put a Pioneer 106 in my external firewire box, will iDVD recognise it?

To my knowledge, yes and yes.

iDVD only works with internal, Apple-supplied drives. If you install this drive into the internal CD/DVD bay, iDVD may recognize it. I see your signature indicates you're using a PowerBook, so this may not be possible.
