FAT32 partitions and permission problems

I discovered some permission problems when using more than one user logged in (somehow permissions on external Firewire drive were set to second user. After logout on his profile - all permissions of external drive has changed giving first user full acces).

Second thing - external drive with FAT32 partition is read-only. I guess in Jag we could write on that kind of filesystem, am I wrong?

I'm experiencing the same problem with my USB 2 external drive.
Since I installed Panther, the OS recognizes my external drive, but if I try to copy something from or to the external drive, the system hangs in calculating time to copy and I need to disconect the drive.

I hope it can be fixed soon...
