I was all set to buy a panasonic digital stereo receiver. It has 2 optical audio inputs (really intended for DVD, I think. I assumed I could run optical cable from my G5's "optical audio out." Then my computer's sound would come through the Cambridge Soundworks speakes from the receiver.
Well, I called panisonic to make sure this would work. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULDN'T! They asked what program I'd be using. I told them Itunes and they responded "it would work with Windows Media Player, but will not work with itunes.
Does this sound remotely possible??
I mean is the the computer processing the files and sending digital audio to the receiver (not files)?
If this seems possible does anyone have any good ercomendations for a receiver that I CAN use?
