I use an "Option Globetrotter GT MAX 7.2 Ready" PCMCIA (wireless) modem to get online on my Powerbook G4. I upgraded the card's firmware a few days ago as well as the connection software. This has brought about an unexpected problem: the data transfer rate drops to zero every 5 minutes or so. The connection stays on and network reception remains good. I then have to close the connection software, unplug the data card, plug it in back again and reconnect after a minute or so.
I've uninstalled the connection software, deleted the relevant plists, removed the modem 'profile' under 'system preferences > Network' and deleted the installed modem scripts. I have then repeated the installation process. All this hasn't helped in any way.
What else can I try? If somebody here has a word of advice to offer, I would appreciate it.
