I'm looking for a free photo viewer with next and previous buttons so I can look through a folder. It sounds like a simple request, but I haven't been able to find one. I just want something simple, I hate iphoto. Right now photos open with "Preview". I find it hard to believe there is not a simple viewer that will let me browse through a folder included in OSX. I got the computer used, perhaps there is but it was deleted?

even simpler - OS X after 10.4 will do this natively, if all you want to do is view the pictures.
Open the folder with pictures, select all that you want to view (Apple-A if the files are all pictures) - then control (Right)-click, and choose Slideshow from the drop-down menu. This will run automatically, or you can choose to run manually with left/right arrow keys.

it's a case of the app working slightly differently to windows. instead of windows 'click one, browse the lot', mac you have to select what you want first. apple+a to select all will do fine.
