Hi

I have a new MacBook Pro with Leopard installed.
Why is it that the hide function (CMD+H) doesn't work all the time?
It seems hide open applications one by one, leaving at least one window open...

Isn't it supposed to hide all open applications immediately?

Thanks.

the shortcut (⌘+H) is not a system-wide setting, and some applications just don't implement it. Photoshop for instance is one of those.

what i sometimes use instead, is with the application you want to hide in the foreground perform an ⌥+click (option/alt + click) on the desktop or on the dock-icon or a window the application you want to be in the foreground.

this hides the current application, and bring to front the one you selected.

btw. using the ⌥ key you can do more usefull things.
for instance, when closing/minizing/zooming a window while holding ⌥, all windows of that application will perform the selected action.

Yep, Photoshop and e.g. Meetingmaker older versions just don't use command-h at all.
So it may depend on the application, and sometimes with the applications it should work there can be a temporary glitch or a bug for it to not work in a certain combination.
