I have an iBook SE 466 with firewire. The problem(s) are this. The Firewire port does not work, it will charge my ipod, but does not see it there (the ipod works on all othe macs I have). 2. The DVD-ROM does not work, the ribbon cable for it weakened and snapped. I have a USB CD-ROM for it but it is not bootable. OK the Big problem, I was installing the OS 9.0.4 from the iBook install CD, it had a problem and when I restart I get the folder "?" combo. I have reset the pram, pmu, and tried to set my 10.2 as the boot in open firmware, but I get a message like "can not open hd:,\\txbi" or something similar. So it sounds to me like it messed up the partion or the partition map. This is the only laptop I have so I don't have another drive to throw in. Anyway to reformatt and get the USB CD to load from open firmware? Or just get it to boot!!!? I have tried the reset-all command to, but no luck. Thanks in advance!!!!
