iChat won't work in 10.1. Why?

I tried iChat in OSX v10.1 and it won't launch. It attempts to launch in the dock for about a third second then its gone. Has Apple done this on purpose or is there some actual difference in the operating systems?

I'm guessing it was compiled using some Jaguar-only stuff that is tied into the system, so it dies when it can't find it.

iChat is more than an app, it has ties deep into the system to the new Mail and Address Book, which also do not run on 10.1.

I've used iChat and it does look pretty cool. I've even replaced my default AIM icon with the iChat one.

So you've used 10.2. I have a friend who actually attended WWDC, so I'm thinking of getting it off him. I'd like to know about your experiences with it. Do any applications or games stop working? Is there a place that has a list of known bugs?

I think there are several threads here that people have listed their troubles and experiences in. Try going back a few days/weeks in the OS X system software section.
