Imovie questions.....

Hey guys i have some questions about Imovie...

Importing: No matter how good the quality of my original movie, it looks like crap after i export it. I am using the best settings offered and it still looks like poop...Any opinions?

Audio: I use the same digicamera for all my movies, but only some of them have audio after i import it into Imovie?? weird, any thoughts?


I assume there is better vid editing stuff, but i am trying to use free stuff, you know how it goes....LOL

btw, i am using OSx 10.2 and Imovie 3.0.3

Any help would be appreciated..
 
How are you connecting the camera to the computer? USB or Firewire?

Any reason why you haven't updates to 10.2.8?
 
The cam is a Sony Mavica, and burns it directly onto mini cd's...

No reason really i havent updated...Should i really?
 
iMovie is only as good as the system that is grabbing the images. Upgrade to 10.2.8, run Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then give your camera a try.
 
Yeah Software Update pops up now and again, but its always for certain apps? Would it say 'System Update' or somthing?

The reason i dont update everything everytime, is basically HD space...A lot of the stuff i dont use, so i dont update it...

So basically no one else is having any issuse like this with the older imovie?
