Internet plug-in

when ever i try to watch a video on my mac it says that "safari cannot find internet plug-in." Then it says to go to

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en&qstechnology=

and install windows media player. But when I did it did not work. I might be doing something wrong b/c I am new to mac. But please tell me if there is a way to make windows media to work or if there is a differnt plug-in I could be using

Install Windows Media Player for the Mac (go to www.microsoft.com/mac and look under "other") or get a copy of Flip4Mac (www.versiontracker.com).

Did you use Stuffit Expander 10 to uncompress the downloaded .sitx file that holds Windows Media Player for the Mac?

When I tryied to open the Windows media download nothing poped up. Is that what the Expander is for. Or is there any other plug-in that would work better.

You need Stuffit Expander to decompress the download.

Think of Expander as a program that unzips zip files in Windows (aka "WinZip"). The .sitx is a new compression file format used in Stuffit Expander 10, which means you have to install Stuffit Expander 10 and then open the compressed .sitx file.

The .sitx format is not that new. IIRC, it has been around since Stuffit 8. Most certainly it was around for Stuffit 9.

I just found out that windows media cant be used as a plug-in. in order to watch video's on it you have to dowload them to your computer. So does anyone know of a plug in that can play the video's without dowloading them.
