My iPod is currently using version 2.1 but if I try updating to 2.2 with this update, it won't work. It says to wait for the iPod to restart, but the iPod never restarts.
If I try it through iTunes, the updater doesn't give me the option to just "Update"; it says I need an update, but the only button I can click is to "Restore" my iPod (and lose all my songs). Is it true that upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2 requires me to Restore my iPod and lose all my music? I don't have access to some of the songs anymore and I'd really like to avoid restoring it (especially since I have no guarantee that restoring it will make the update work in the first place).
