Keeps Charging Even When Full

My powerbook is weird. Sometimes, when I charge my laptop, it goes to 99% and keeps charging for a while, not reaching 100%. I unplug it and plug it back in, but it goes to brown (charging) again. It takes a restart to fix it. What is causing this?

It's called a (not so) "smart" battery. There are some tips to be found at Apple's support pages. Try searching those pages for "recalibrate battery". Well, it's here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86284 ... You'll find more information there about PB and iBook batteries, too.

Also - as I don't know how old your PB's battery is - there simply comes a time when your PB's battery is too old and needs to be replaced in order to fully restore the expected behaviour. If yours is still in the warranty time, try and get a new one for free. (My sister got two new ones for her iBook in warranty time. Had nothing to do with the current or past recalls by Apple, btw.)
