Low cpu usage Browser?

    Hi

    Is there any low cpu/mem usage browser for mac os x?

    Or wich of the latests browsers is less cpu intensive?
    Opera, Firefox, Safari, iCab, Omniweb, Camino, Any other?

    Depends on what machine you are currently using. On my Macbook, Camino, Safari and Firefox all perform about the same. I notice no slow downs when I'm doing fairly CPU intensive stuff in the background.

    Those apps are "light" because they use webkit. Can't compare their filesize to, say, Camino which brings its own rendering engine etc. ;)

    [i.e. the filesize doesn't really say "look, we're lean", it only says "we're using Safari's engine and anything going wrong is Apple's fault, actually".]

    Even thought it's all text, it's still a great browser that's helped me out from time to time when I need something from the web really quick. :)

    I never tried text browsers before so now's the time!

    I tried the latest svn build of Camino and its quite fast though only scrolling brings the cpu to almost 100%!?
