Mac Mini - Potential Downside

Based on the size and cooling equipment of the Mac mini I doubt that it would be a good idea to just drop in a 7200 drive ... wouldn't an external FireWire drive be a much better idea? Keep the OS and apps on the mini and your home folder on the FW disk for easy swapping with your other macs ... what the heck, you might even use an iPod for this ... mmmh ... ;)

faster doesn't always mean more heat. the hitachi/ibm 2.5" run quite cool at any speed. people put 7200rpm drives in ibooks and powerbooks all the time and have no issues. if a laptop has no heat issues then a mac mini won't.
