I know a few UNIX commands and I know the VERY basics of how file sharing, FTP, Telnet, and networking in general work. However, I'm looking for a GOOD newbie guide online that will give me a general education about my network. Like, what's a packet? How does sniffing them help? How in the world do I use Netinfo Manager? What can I do with it? How do I connect to my school's file sharing server when other kids are simply clicking on the Network Neighborhood?
I've searched Apple's support site for this - but I can't find the specific info I'm looking for. Any suggestions?
