hello.

i've been using the ftp-scipt from
ftp-thread
to set up my ftp server.

now i've osx-server-software, but i don't know why and what for i should use it. what does osx server offer that os x cannot. i'm not interested in gui. is there any new funcionality?

question 2: how many connections can my plain-os-x ftp-server runt at the same time?

connections are not limited by licenses or anything like that...its whatever the limitation of your hardware / connection is.

as far as the age old question of osxs vs oxs ... if you know the command line well enough you don't need osxs. The core of the OS is the same, but OSXS comes with a lot of administrative utilities to make life easier.

as far as setting up and maintaining my ftp server the problem is solved. so i assume that os server has nothing to offer for me (from the point where i am now.)
