Palm might buy Handspring

Arden

Where mah "any" keys at?
Here is the announcement.

What do you guys think about this? What might this mean for the future of the handheld market, if anything? What will this mean for the Visor and Treo line of handhelds? Will they simply adopt the Palm brand name, will they change the models to something different, or will they drop them altogether?

I just bought a brand-new Tungsten E, and I was price-checking on Palm's site, which is where I found this announcement. I wouldn't mind a Treo, or one with a Camera, but I really don't need those right now (much less not being able to afford them). And my Tung E will play MP3's off of an SD card.

We will have to wait and see what happens. Many times a buyout usually ends up with the same products being produced under the new corporate name in fine print.

well, all the people who started HandSpring CAME from Palm in the first place...so I don't know how different that will cause things to be in the long run.
