    What are the prebindings ?
A found a simple tool, a GUI for a terminal command, updating prebindings. For what I have read, this updating seems necessary to optimize OSX prebindings and third-party software prebindings. What arre they exactly ?

NB 1 : the tool is called System Optimizer X.
NB 2 : Admin, if you think it's a too much "unix" question, move this post, I won't be ashamed !

Prebinding links applications to the dynamic libraries that they will need to access. Makes them launch faster.
That System Op X is an inferior product. If you don't want to tackle the CLI, get XOptimize, also available from versiontracker.com.
Or just open a Terminal window and type:
    sudo update_prebinding -root /
and then enter your administrator password when prompted.
