Preview assumes portrait

I want to incorporate an eps file that is in the landscape mode into Keynote, but when I try to import it, Preview seems to automatically open it in the portrait mode, thus cutting off
a part of the figure on the right hand side. How can I open (import to Keynote) a landscape eps file properly?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but you should be able to just drag and drop the file into the slide you want it in. you can then move it around inside the slide and resize it to your liking.
