Q to run to OS 9

I saw that Q will emulate a PPC has anyone tried to run os 9 on a intel mac?

that's actually not a bad way of getting round the whole 'removal of classic from intel macs' thing...

There's also SheepShaver. I've heard it runs at about the speed of a 300-500MHz G3 on Intel-based Macs. You could expect the same kind of speeds you get emulating Windows on PPC Macs, I guess.

SheepShaver a pain in the butt to set up, though. I've been trying to get it running on my PPC Mac (it runs at native speed on the PPC side), but...sheesh. It's one problem after another. I actually got to install OS 9 on a disk image after booting it from my OS 9.0 CD, but I never managed to get it to boot from the image. I gave up when it stopped loading altogether. I've never tried Q, though.

Qemu's Power Mac emulation can't boot OS 9 yet.

That is too bad I still use it of 2 apps that don't yet have an upgrade.
