Remove some refresh rate in Displays

Hello Everyone,

I switched from LCD monitor to LCD TV monitor. love it. how ever I have quite a few problems with refresh rate. One of them is: I'm launching a game (C&C Generals) it is configured at 1024x768. The game tries to get highest refresh rate available (probably return from system). As the results, I cant see a thing on the LCD.
I looked into the Displays in system preferences, it is listed 1024x768 with 60,75,85,96Hz. the 96 is not working.

Anyway, I was just wondering if there is a way to remove or disable the refresh rates that listed in Displays.

Have you tried deleting the .plist preference file in Library-->Preferences that is inside your home folder? Check for a .plist file that has the game's name in it. Delete it and then try and run the game again.

Also, you might want to head over to the System Preferences and select the Displays pane. Have it detect your display for the proper refresh rate settings.
