samba shares slow

hoping someone out there in cyberspace can help me...just upgraded to OSX Leopard (silly me) and find that accessing files from a samba share in finder are really slow...around 24kb/s. If i scp files using terminal this seems much better at around 9mb/s....is this another flaw in Leopard....?
 
Samba is slow, period. Mac, Linux or Windows. You will get much better rates using SCP than you will ever get over Samba. Did Samba work faster for you prior to moving to Leopard?
 
can't recall it being this slow when running Tiger. The problem I have is all file sharing is done through linux here so rely on it quite a bit. Wasn't sure if there were known issues with Leopard or not. Thanks for your input though.
 
I have had the same problem. Definitely much slower than when using tiger. I use scp for a lot of things, and this is still ok. If anyone knows of any documentated problems with samba and leopard (or fixes) would love to know...
