setting a new default font in word x

fbp_

captain obvious
I dont like the way times 12pt looks on my powebook screen so I would like all my new word documents to default to a different font instead of having to change it every time, but I cant seem to find the setting and word's "help" system is likely to make me throw my computer out a window before I manage to wade through it far enough to find out how

anyone who knows, please share.

thanks

Fron Word 2004's help menu with the criteria, "default font":

1. If your document already contains text formatted with the properties you want to use, select that text.
2. On the Format menu, click Font.
3. Select the options you want to apply to the default font. If you selected text in step 1, the properties you want will appear in the dialog box.
4. Click Default.

Any new document you open will use the font settings you selected.

Tip: The default font applies to new documents based on the active template. Different templates might use different default font settings.
