Does anyone know about buying sims cards (in this case for t-mobil network ) in Mexico? India? France?

you mean sim-card? the one that allows you t-mobile, one2one, orange, vodafone etc mobile phone to work and have its number? you get the card when you get a new number = new contract or a pay by call service. do you want to buy them because you intend to use your t-mobile in those countries, or because you collect them?

I want to be able to buy a local phone sim in India for example so i can use my t-mobil system and sony ericsson phone without paying the nearly two dollars a minute roam charge..jean

I found these - but I don't know in which parts of India each of them works, or whether in all the country. Some may have prepaid cards available, e.g. you get a number and 50 $ (or other amount, 50 $ seems high for India), and some only contracts. Maybe you should find more (e.g. with google) about these operators, and ask them what you need to know. :)

(this seems to contain contacts to most of the indian operators, so you can ask them)

(that site has the contacts/links for Skycell (India, GSM 900), Airtelworld (India, GSM 900), Modi-Telstra (India), Airtelindia (India), Commandcell (India), UMTL (India), Commandworld (India), Spicecell (India), Essar-cellphone (Delhi, India), BPL Mobile India, AT&T Network of India)

Then will be in France and Germa so I need to get sims whwrever... whaat did you searchg for to get these sites i tried earlier without luck..

am going to learn how to use blue tooth and my tmobil connect with my mac powerbook, so i can get email direct on the rosd.. dont quite trust there will always be wireless... jean

I googled GSM operator India.
If you stay a month or longer, it may make sense to have a local operator card. Less than a month probably (unless you call a lot) isn't worth it.

Do you have a trial band phone? USA uses 1900 mhz frequency, and Europe commonly 900 (old) or 900/1800 mhz dual band. A trial band is the only one that works both in US and Europe (India seems to have 900 mhz too).

Your t-610 is a triband phone. What this means, as Giaguara was saying, is that you can use it more or less anywhere in the world with a GSM network. Most countries' networks run on 900 or 1800 MHz and most phones can work with either. The US uses 1900 MHz but some newer mobiles (like the t68 and the t610) will work on this frequency too. Check out the roaming costs with t-mobile, it might not be worth buying a pay-as-you-go sim if you're only going to be in, say Mexico, for a week. On the other hand, I don't know about other countries but a pay-as-you-go sim in the UK will cost $25 - £40. Just depends on what you think will be better value for you, since you'll be in India for a month, that might be better. Also, check to see if you can make data calls on pay-as-you-go. Hope that helps.

Thanks to both of you...when i chose he phone the Sony Ericsson person assured me it would work any where on GSM but I did not know about triband or such ... I will let you know my experience in Mexixo.. I will be callng bak to radio stations etc with reports..so we shall see the wonders of modern technology... Then i need to do the bluetooth connect.. ouch... jean
