well, i came back to see what was to be said, and sure enough a reply. The "where is perl" command worked and replied by point me towards /usr/bin/perl and when i tried the command to read the log file, i saw this at the end (after i tried running the cgi) [Wed Mar 6 20:14:19 2002] [error]...

well, closer than i was before, but still not there. i didnt really know how to access the cgi-bin before, so now that i know how to access it, its better, but now i get the Internal Server Error each time i try to run something. so i think somethings gone afoul. i tried it on the cgi again...
