Hi, i just bought a new G-Tech G-DRIVE 500GB FW400/800 - USB 2.0 - eSATA of US eBay. I live in France however.
will the universal power adapter included be usable in France? was hoping this wasn't gonna cause me too many problems when i get the drive home..
any help appreciated!

depends on wether you're using a 2nd screen or not, and even if you do, you'd have to install the firmware-patch which makes double screns enabled(not only mirrored mode).
then you might wake up your iBook while the lid is down, using either a bluetooth-device or with your usb...
pack it up, back to the store, use your rights as a costumer! at least where i come from, you may give the thing back within 4 weeks, if "it doesn't fulfill your needs and expectations"..
you'll get a full refund, enough to finance a new one. easy peachy..

well, the only thing i think you are missing is the fact that theese loans doens't come around too often. but i doo agree that it might be a very good idea if you're a student or anyone else with a tight budget.
personally, i hate to be in debt, and would actually prefer to shell out the big...
yep, and becuase of its slow flash-memory, it writes between 2 and 6 kb/s to the memory when transfering from my PB.. waaaaaay to slow if you ask me. any sony ericsson would give me speeds of about 60-70kb/s..

prices wont movethat much anyway - apple tend to keep their prices somewhat regular at the same level, no matter what upgrade comes.. actually, the some of the latter upgrades have indeed been upgrades to the machine offered for less the price than its earlier revision.
