    Jump straight to favorite Sys Pref in dock

    Snard is a small "dockling" app that gives you a list of all your preferences when clicking on the icon in the dock. It also show your app's and document's. That is the one's you added to Snard. You can also launch a app as root. Check it out, it's pretty neat! (versiontracker.com)

    Moving files using the Toolbar

    I guess this is known for most of you, but still... Dropping a file on a icon (ex. Applications) in the toolbar would result in that file being moved to the applications folder. For me who always dragged between different finder win's this turned out to be real handy.

    The traah in The Dock is avalible from anywhere. On the Desktop it gets covered by app win's. More and more apps are using the Trash in a "drag-to-Trash-to-throw-this-item" behavior. Putting it on the Desktop will make it less usefull, so why bother...

    Speed?!

    Classic environment leave the memorymanagement to X. Does this means that the memory settings for a classic app is meaningless, or should you increase the min/max memorysettings to, let's say 100MB per app.

    No, after enabling root... you're asked for the password you like for the root account, then the root account will be added to the user list.

    If you never activated root do the following. 1) Start NetInfo Manager app (found in /Applications/Utilities/). 2) Choose menu Domain - Security - Authenticate Write your password 3) Choose menu Domain - Security - Enable root user Write the password you like for root Your done

    YES, DOCK IS MOVEABLE !!!!

    Did you try to log in as root and then edit the file in PropertyListEditor. I've done this on 8 different machines, 1 PB G4 , 1 iBook and 6 G4 466, without any problems.
