I recently reinstalled OS X, and now when I try to confiugre my AirPort base station I get a message saying "There was an error while reading the configuration". I've updated AirPort software to the most current, and still no luck. I really need to reconfigure it. Any suggestions...

    WYSE 50 terminal connection

I wish I knew. We connect over the internet to our database via a terminal (on the PC) by Appgen called Power Windows. It's set vot vt220 and set to work over TCP/IP. That's about all the info I have. It also hooks to port 5555, if that is standard for anything. Maybe I should go with a...

To Go Where No PC Has Gone Before

    1. A full fledged, full power Mac running OS X and any app on a handheld 2. OS X on PC Hardware (AMD and/or Intel) Those are both "where no PC has gone before"...

    Airport and VNC

It's been a while since I looked at the forum -- but I've gotten it to work -- I did indeed need to create a FIXED IP address for my computer and tell the Airport to map the port I use for Xvnc to point to my computer. It works great! Thanks d.

    Airport and VNC

I've been using VNC for OS X and I've just added an airport network. I'm now trying to get VNC to work over the Airport network buut I am having difficulty. Here's the scenario: 1) I'm running OS X VNC on port 5901 2) I've configured the Airport Base Station to map port 5901 to that...

    UnRAR for X

I tried it again with a smaller file and it worked great! This time, instead of changing the directory to the file first, i just typed: "unrar x" (no quotes) and dragged the file into the console. Worked like a charm. Not only that, but I'm trying the very large, 40 part rar file again and...

    UnRAR for X

Ouch. Well, I'm trying to unrar the large mpeg I have and it seems to be working but it is incredibly SLOW. It's chewed through the first 4 parts of 42 in 25 minutes...VPC is faster, that is for sure. In truth, I'm not even positive it's working yet. :-) But, it is native! d.

    UnRAR for X

A ha! I'm trying it out right now with a huge mpg file. I did the following: I changed the directory to the correct one before starting I didn't choose a filename for the resulting file. Instead I let it use the real one. It's currently chewing through a 600MB mpeg file... still...

    UnRAR for X

Well, here we are again! I've just tried to install the unrar found at macosx.forked.net. I've followed the instructions, it appears to have installed but I have no idea how to use it. Any help would be appreciated, as usual! d.

    Airport and gNAT

Hey Y'all Anyone have any experience using computer-to-computer Software Base Station on the Mac with a PC? More importantly, will gNAT let me share an internet connection over an Airport computer-to-computer network? I'm trying to use a 802.11 compatible PC card in my girlfriend's...
