No, there's a warning box over the installer window that says "OSX cannot be installed on this computer" and buttons to restart of open the startup disk utility.

But on a 1GHz G4 12" Powerbook, with 512 meg ram. Any suggestions as to what the problem would be in this case?

What about messages I have stored in mboxes in the "Old Mail" folder (I have a number of them there named for various correspondents). When I try to put them in they form whole account with various sub folders, non of which seem to have the stored messages.

Just came back from a trip during which I used the Mail app from a variety of sources without changing any prefs. Now I'm back home and I can receive new POP mail, but I can't send out SMTP mail. Everything is exactly the way I left it, and I can't think of where to start. Any ideas?
