Have you ticked the option to save it as a file? Are you gzipping it or anything? Have you checked your default download location to see if the file was created there without prompting you?

For security reasons, directory listing isn't permitted. Instead of trying to list the contents of a directory, direct your browser to a particular file. Provided you've got the path right - e.g. http://localhost/index.html instead of http://localhost/ - you should be okay.

I'm not sure that cross-platform file transfer works through Yahoo Messenger (it never has for me). You're better off using another method.

You have two options, as far as I know, and both require that you convert your files to a compatible format. If your DVD player is capable of playing DivX and/or XviD, you can convert your .mp4 files to .avi (both DivX and XviD use this extension) and burn them onto a data disc. Otherwise...

Look into something in the Canon PIXMA line. They're affordable and good quality. I can't assure you that it'll be compatible with all the versions of the OS you have, but it's worth a try.
