As far as the password goes, I had a friend that had major probs with it. Couldnt get back in to do anything. When I set up my computer, I left the password blank (no networking) and just skip it everytime I need to do any admin. Works great......:D Besides, I hate passwords.....:eek:

Ever since I upgraded to 10.2.4, my dialup has been adversely affected. I read on another (apple) forum that many people have had these issues. The internet is "BRUTALLY" SLOW with most pages timing out after 30 seconds (Another great Safari pref) only to try again with bar not even trying...

I have clients that send pics via email and sometimes I will get 2 files attached. 1 is a mime file and the other is the actual filename. However, the file with the actual filename is no good. Detach the mime file. that is the real one. I have learned that you should always encode files...

I read on another forum that there may be a modem bug with 10.2.4. Some people have unchecked the compression.... button in internet preferences with good results. I tried, got booted off. What is the difference 'tween v90 and v92 for modem selection?

when it gets bad, it starts to cut out very frequently, I then reboot and then seems to be more stable

I just rebooted and the log report info is just for the previous login. Before reboot, something about had to disconnect, couldnt use port 25?

I seem to be having a problem with my modem lately. It is always hanging up and acting very slow. How can one tell if the modem is the prob or the ISP? Also, everytime I reboot either by menu or startup disk, it boots to a blank gray screen. I then need to hit the power button, let it wind down...

Well, in os9, dealing with postscript fonts you have a folder. In that folder are printer fonts for printer and a suitcase with screen fonts for the monitor. You can dbl clik on suitcase and see what screen fonts are in the suitcase. This way you can manage what is in there like eliminating...

Any Idea about the font managing in X, like opening the suitcase and sorting screen fonts?
