Currently running OSX 10.5 and was wondering if anyone knows how to find your gateway address in Terminal? IFCONFIG only appears to show the IP address. I know you can find it via System Preferences > Network but would like to know if it is possible to find it via terminal.
I can access the files when on the network. The issue is, as stated, I would like to make these files on the windows share available offline for the mac.

The network is just a basic windows workgroup. The network files are shared from a Windows machine and needs to be accessed via a Macbook Pro running Leopard.

How can I look at what ports are open on my macbook. I know in Windows there is an application call Active Ports which views all port activity.
Is there anything similar....?

That is where the problem lies....when I choose to only open the file it opens but saves a copy in the Downloads directory....this is what I would like to change if possible....
