I don't know when I took down those download links, but they are back up! Sorry about that.

This issue was number two of in my list of annoying Lion changes (after the removal Expose for all windows). Doing away with Save As was dumb. But, it looks like Apple restored Save As in Mountain Lion in a limited fashion.
I'll have to see about the Adobe CS launching problem on 10.8. I...
I swapped the two 1 GB RAM modules, and tried restarting several times. I also checked the disk with Disk Utility and everything is checking out just fine so far! :)
Thanks for the RAM tip; I hadn't ever seen that symptom before.
So now it starts up and Disk Utility is telling me that
Incorrect number of extended attributes
(It should be 158311 instead of 158310)
The volume Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired.
So I guess I will try some more things.
So I've got a Mac mini that is giving me kernel panics and is otherwise just giving me the finger.
The attached photo is the latest, but I also witnessed a gray screen on startup accompanied by three beeps and a perpetually blinking (blip-blip-blip, pause, blip-blip-blip, pause ) light on the...
OK jerk,
I figured the lack of the SSD configuration option was entirely marketing based, and I only posted here to confirm that suspicion with other valued members of the Mac community. I didn't expressly state that suspicion because I wanted to believe that the Apple rep had a sliver of...
So I'm speccing out some new workstations and am very interested in the SSD options out there. Apple charges $500 to switch from a 1 TB HDD to a 256 GB SDD, but only offers that option on the three top-end models; NOT the low end 2.5 GHz machine.
I hit up Apple's website chat (which was...
Sometimes I should take care when I decide to lay waste my website. My little tutorial has been down for probably over a yearsorry!
Here's a new link to the same tutorial:

Thanks Mikuro,
After running (and purchasing) FileSalvage 7, I recovered 138 FileMaker files. While a small handful of them opened immediately, the vast majority of the files were unusable, with these error messages as possibilities:
Some were able to be opened after a file recovery...
You guessed, it. I lost some files completely due to my own stupidity. I have some critical FileMaker files that I failed to backup before I wiped the drive and installed 10.6.
I have seen several articles and programs that deal with recovering deleted files (via the Trash) but I think I'm...
Hello,
I've got a couple of subnets hooked up via a site-to-site VPN. Each subnet has an Xserve running Mac OS X Server 10.5 on each. One is the Open Directory Master and the other is an Open Directory Replica.
Everything works great until one location loses its internet connection. A...
Ah hah! I forgot about the web apps… You never hear of them with all the hubbub surrounding the main App Store. I will definitely look into the Web App thing. Might post back if I have some success with it (or of I don't, heh).
So I'd love to make an iPhone app that hooks up to our Doggy Day Care webcams. I've got them streaming on our website (limited hours, so if it doesn't load for you, check the timeCentral Standard Time):

I've downloaded the...
Welcome to where I was a few years ago. ;) Such are the pitfalls of self-taught expertise, I guess. You might also try the official Netgear forums. You'll have to register your products to get into the 'blue box' section, but if my tutorial doesn't help you, ask them.
