That would be a Beige G3 not G4!!!!!!!! I'm an idiot, as well as a terrible typist :P

At school, I use a Beige G4 that has a Sony 21"...it is set at (I think 1600X1200) and on that monitor, the text size in perspective seems about the same as the 15 internal on my iMac at 1024, so I'm guessing the relative text size of 1024 on a 21" should equal a 15" at 640! Just thinking out...

I have an iMac...1024 is good, but why on earth would anyone want 1280 on a 15" 13.8" viewable monitor!?!?

I had the same problem for a while...I finally fixed it by switching to Omniweb...it loads the OS X version instead of the classic after you download an archive.

I installed 10.0.1 developer tools and got omniweb in 15 bounces instead of 20, and mail in 3, then I ran X optimize and took omniweb down to 6 bounces and mail to a bounce and a half. Man it really works!!!

One of the things that delayed my switch to OS X was discussion on this board and others like it on speed (or lack thereof). I am running a G3 350, and it runs like a scalded dawg! I did upgrade to a faster 7200 RPM HDD before installing. The drive Apple shipped with this iMac was a crappy 4400...

I am looking for an old Mac, anything 68030 or higher to do MIDI Sequencing on. Needs to be running 7.5.3 or higher. Must be CHEAP! Thanks, Jayson
