    iTunes 10 update leaves PC/Mac sharing semi-broken.

Our home network is a mix of a PC and several Macs. The recent iTunes 10 update (all the machines are now running it) has caused a strange problem with accessing the PC's shared music library from any of the Macs. When iTunes is first started on the PC, its shared library appears on the Macs'...

    Sharing Windows 7 Folders

Aha. I figured it out. The answer with Windows 7 is to add the printer via "LPD/LPR Host or Printer" instead of via "Windows". So the steps to let your Mac print on a printer connected to a PC running Windows 7 are: 1. In "Print and Fax" system settings, hit "+" to add a printer. 2...

    Sharing Windows 7 Folders

Here's an update. I've been able to access shared folders on the PC by using the Finder's "Connect to Server" command. I don't really understand why my Mac can't automatically see the shared folders, since they don't require a login or password to view. The main problem now is sharing the...

    Sharing Windows 7 Folders

I'm having exactly the same problem as JPole. Our PC was previously running Windows XP, and I had no problem seeing a shared Windows folder on my Mac in the "Shared" section in the left column of any Finder window. Now that the PC is running Windows 7, a similarly shared folder no longer...

All preview images in Finder have disappeared

Hmmm...I guess this one has stumped the panel. As a solution, should I do a system re-install from my Snow Leopard installation disc?

All preview images in Finder have disappeared

Maybe these images will help to clarify my situation. They are screen grabs of Finder windows. Both show that the Finder displays only a blank space instead of a preview image for both image files and applications. Any help much appreciated.

All preview images in Finder have disappeared

I'm running a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.2. The Finder will no longer display preview images when I click on individual items. This applies to image files, applications, aliases...everything. Strangely, the tiny image icons in the column view do still appear--but when I click on an individual...

MacBook Pro not recognizing "Enter" key on external keyboard

Can anyone else offer a solution for this? I never realized how much I used my Enter key until it became disabled. As stated before, the problem doesn't seem to be the keyboard, as the Enter key works fine when connected to a different MacBook. Thanks!

MacBook Pro not recognizing "Enter" key on external keyboard

Well, that worked, but only once. After restarting a second time (due to Software Update doing its thing), the Enter key is dead again. I tried re-deleting those preference files, but the Enter key stays dead even after another restart.

MacBook Pro not recognizing "Enter" key on external keyboard

That didn't work, but here's an odd thing: I tried changing my startup disk to my backup external drive, which was last cloned from the MacBook Pro's internal hard drive a week ago. The Enter key works fine when starting from that external drive. When I switch back to the internal hard drive...

MacBook Pro not recognizing "Enter" key on external keyboard

Good suggestion, but I've now tried it and it had no effect.

MacBook Pro not recognizing "Enter" key on external keyboard

My MacBook Pro (running OS X 10.6.2) suddenly does not respond when the "Enter" key on my external Apple keyboard is pressed. All the other keys work fine. I'm using the Apple low-profile keyboard with numeric keypad--here's a link to it at the Apple Store. The problem doesn't appear to be...

iTunes won't download iPod Touch software 3.0

The problem just resolved itself. I think it must have been a temporary situation with the iTunes store.

iTunes won't download iPod Touch software 3.0

I have a 1st generation iPod Touch running software version 2.2.1. I want to buy the new 3.0 software via iTunes. When I connect the iPod Touch to my MacBook Pro (which is running OSX 10.6 and iTunes 8.2.1) and click on the device name in iTunes, I'm given option of updating to version 3.0. But...

    Changing view options in Mail.

Well, that's fairly embarrassing. Thanks, Giaguara.
