Still no joy on the mac front, with netstat or traceroute. I borrowed a laptop and plugged my WAP into that and used the USB software to find its ip (192.168.1.21, with gateway set to .1.20 for some reason). Now to get my DS to connect.... I'd still like to know if it is possible to sniff...

I know its not a sequentional number, becasue I hand set them a several months ago - thats why trying to ping every number would take me far too long. There is no web interface that I know of - the PC software for both Access points had a USB version where I could plug in the AP to configure...

I've been running my OS X firewall with no problems for months, but I've just got a PSP and it won't connect via Airport with the firewall switched on. I've tried opening the recommended TCP and UDP ports but it makes no difference. So I'd like to try other Firewalls, but I don't want to pay...

Thanks! I'll give that a go tonight. The USB disk is formatted for windows use, as it is a portable hard disk and media device reader. There does appear to be OS X drivers available for it, so I'll format it see what happens.

I've just got myself a 40GB external USB drive to use to backup the user folders on my Mac. My plan was to just grab the Users folder and copy it, but I'm running into problems, and it's mostly to do with filenames. MSN Messenger saves its logs with a date, and the date includes the @ symbol...

Do you intend the Xbox to conect via the ibook, or via it's own wireless point? I've had no luck getting my Xbox or PS2 to talk via the mac, but by connecting them to their own wireless point and letting it talk to a wireless router (or another wireless point attached to the router)...
