believe me i wish i could use OS X! The environment is a film/music production studio where they use an SGI system for video rendering, a G4 running Pro Tools for audio recording (PT only runs in OS 9 and earlier), and PC workstations for admin staff, etc. I'll look into netatalk, etc.

I'm sure Apple will never make a browser. Imagine how pissed MS would be?

Are you talking professional recording or what? The professional apps (Peak, Protools, any audio/MIDI suite) won't be out in X for a while. Don't hold your breath.
I don't know anything about the iMic, but i hope it works because I'll need to get one soon!
