    SubEthaEdit

I agree, SubEthaEdit is a great application. Facillitates ExtremeProgramming when people cannot meet physically, and is just a heck of an editor as well.

    php problem

It's a bit unclear to me what your problem is. If you're having problems in getting hold of the actual values in the form-variables, it might be that your php.ini file has the option register_globals = Off. If this is the case, you have to refer to the form variables as $_GET['varname'] instead...

Connecting a Windows XP laptop to a Mac OS X.2.1 iMac over ethernet?

Can't you just transfer with ftp? Or... if you enable windows file sharing, just enter //you.ip.address/~loginname/ in windows explorer

    Powerbook G4 + Jaguar = 2 hrs battery time

Hey, thanks for the reply. Its always been like this in os X. Haven't checked in OS9, but the norm in my experience would be that I get 5 hrs with power-saving features enabled. Tried zapping pram, but no change

    Powerbook G4 + Jaguar = 2 hrs battery time

I can't get more than 2.5 hours out of my 1.st generation Powerbook G4 500 mhz. I have 512Mb RAM and 10.2.1. The reduced processor option is selected in energy saver, but to no effect. In OS9 I used to get 5 hours out of a full battery. Anybody know a solution to this problem?

    Application quits erraticly

Its not a kernel panic when it's the <B>console</B> that displays the error. I also stated that the <B>application</B> quits, not the entire system... Very helpful, thank you very much Please only reply if j00 have a cl00... :D

    Application quits erraticly

A friend of mine has a problem I can't figure out. His terminal would launch, but only produced windows with "Process completed". Fixed that by making him force-use the tcsh shell in prefs. Now he's trying to use the combo-update to update from 10.1.2 to 10.1.5, but the installer quits...

    apache/php/mysql problem

Hey people :D I'm trying to implement a php-based news system in a page I'm writing. Weird thing is, I can't run the install page of the script (wich creates the tables) or login to the page after I have manually created all tables. I'm starting to suspect it's a php problem, since I can...

SERIOUS potential security flaw in OSX?

No, but I read an article regarding IE cache and full drives. When IE tried to write to a full disk, it instead spilled cache data over on multiple files on your HD, including .DS_Store. If you rename an executable to .DS_Store, won't you be able to launch it after a rehash? In any case its...

SERIOUS potential security flaw in OSX?

Sup voice- :p LTNS! I digress.... How come apple hasn't hidden the .DS_Store file somewhere, maybe even have just one .DS_Store file with system-only write-access? Bugs me bigtime when I'm burning ISO/Joliet CD's and all folders have a .DS_Store file in them. The .DS_Store file can...

SERIOUS potential security flaw in OSX?

I remember reading somewhere that Explorer writes to various files on your disk if the disk is full. Amongst others, the file .DS_Store was apparently affected. A couple of days ago, I remebered seeing the system trying to launch a .DS_Store file from my StartupItems folder. I would consider...
