i was using my mac earlier and was running aim fine im'ing a bunch of people so i then decieded to quit aim and mess around with the terminal , i do a cc -v browse the filesystem a little doing a ls and ls -al , then i finally deciede to close the terminal and relaunch aim , so i do it...

nevermind this post i tinkered arounda bit and found the solution to the problem and iam running 10.1.4 now :)

i have myself setup as the administrator on this comp. and under USER i dont see anything listed for root or setting up a root password so i do a su and type in my admin pw thinking that , that will work and all i get is a sorry , now i do understand that you do have to be a root user to...

i thought you had to install gcc first to compile nmap , .... or does the developertools already install that for you ,... i did a gcc -v and got back some weird results so i didnt think that it installed gcc

I just upgraded to v 10.1 and when i come to install the 10.1.3 i get this message back from the suffit expander : "Sorry, but this version of the Stuffit Expander requires version 6.5 or newer of the Stuffit Engine" then at the very bottom to the left of the ok button it says "Error -43" any...

ive only been using it for a couple of hours and needless to say iam very very pleased even though iam using v10.0.3 and their is some bugs but i havent had a systemcrash/failure all day and i just love the inteface and how crystal clear the fonts are

ive just ordered the 10.1 updgrade from macmall fortunately all it costed me was shipping hope that takes care of it , the next scheduled release will be a 10.2.x right? when will this release be coming out ?

Hi its been a while since ive used a mac and i just bought a 600mhz imac g3 , 256mb of ram and os x already preloaded and i just figured out how to get it booting into os x as opposed to os 9.1 the default , and well anyways i download the 10.1.4 update at the last portion of the install it...
