    .mov to CD

Yes, the burner is plugged in. When I insert a disk I am asked what I want to do with the blank CD. When I choose "Open Disk Copy" I can navigate to the folder I want to burn. nothing hapens and I end up having to hit "Cancel". I have never had this (Iomega) burner show up on the Desktop...

    .mov to CD

That may work for you, but I see no way to make it work. If I use Disk Copy and navigate to the folder I want to burn, the burn button does not come on. My external burner does not show up on the desk top.

    .mov to CD

I have 2 questions: 1. Is it true that Apple, the great digital hub folks, make it true that I have to buy some lame 3rd-party software to burn a collection of .mov and .mpg files to CD? (OR heist the neighbors Dell?) 2. What is the best file format to use for circulating movie files among...

    Theme

You might want to be careful before you dive into themes. Check my experiences: This Jag is a dog, again! * Be sure you have the proper version of Aquafix before you begin. * Always be sure your theme is compatable with your OS version. * If you ever update your OS, just dump your themes...

This Jag is a dog, again!

Running AquaFix 2.0.1 and then restarting brought the Menu bar clock back. I learned a few things during this ordeal, some not directly related to the problem. That's part of what's so cool about having a Mac, even when it throws you a scare. Thanks to all! :D

This Jag is a dog, again!

I have followed the instructions recommended by bobw. No problems were found. I now have no menu bar clock and am unable to restore it through System Preferences. This is getting more and more like a Dell all the time.

That all sounds very familiar. I think I'll stick with Aqua for a while.

This Jag is a dog, again!

The situation has suddenly turned much more desperate. Today I can not open a finder window. I can open applications from the dock, but if I try to open anything else the icons disappear from the desktop and then reappear again. And no window opens.

This Jag is a dog, again!

My G3 is a Rev 1. I had to add a card before I added another 40 Gb Maxtor HD, before I installed OS X. I have always run OS X on a partition of the 40 gig drive and Classic on the original 6 Gb drive. I have never had any significant problems until Jaguar. I did run a clean install after...

This Jag is a dog, again!

This episode started with my installation of Jaguar in January. "This Jag is a dog" I took the recommendations and everything was great for about a week. Now for the last 5 mornings I've had to reach for the reset button to get started. Something is happening during the sleep mode...

    This Jag is a dog!

I'll take your suggestions to heart, but my problems began before the Norton CD ever hit the tray. Thanks everyone!

    This Jag is a dog!

Yes, that has certainly made a difference. I don't know how I ever would have picked that up from Apple's documentation.

    This Jag is a dog!

OS 10.1 ran beautifully on my B&W G3. Hardly ever a problem. Jaguar didn't grab me immediately but a few weeks ago I finally decided to take the plunge. I have had an increasing frequency of nagging problems ever since. The first to arrive was a refusal to wake from sleep. Rare at first...

    Quicktime applescript ??

I have QT 6.1 Pro, which works fine the rest of the time. When I open .mov or .mpg files they open in Jaguar. Classic (installed on a separate hard disk) has a copy of QT 5.0.2. This is the QT Player that opens when I try to run this new script. (Should I just delete that QT on the Classic...

    Quicktime applescript ??

Yup, that does the trick. However, The stream is still opening in QT5 (Classic) rather than QT6. How do I get around this? I can't seem to find any solutiuon in System Preferences or QT Prefs.

    Quicktime applescript ??

From an Applescript novice... Using a "MacAddict" article as a guide I made an application with Applescript that has Safari open my 4 favorite web sites. I would like to add to this script. I would like to open Quicktime to start the NPR live newscast stream (or any other). All attempts so...
