    >console gone?

I got it working. It seems I messed it up when trying to make an account named >console. In Jaguar I could make an account named >console and not set a password and it would give me the ability to click on the account in selection mode.

    >console gone?

I just got Panther in the mail, and have it installed(loving it). One nifty feature in Jaguar that I can't seem to use though is the >console login to go into the command line instead of launching the Finder. Is there a new way to do this, or was it removed entirely?

    Apple Student Dev and Panther

I'm part of the Apple student developers program, and I'm wondering if they're going to send Panther like they did with 10.0, 10.1, and Jaguar. History suggests they will, but seeing Panther out in stores gets me anxious. :(

    pyslsk

I have some very basic knowledge on Unix, and I'd like to try to get pyslsk to work. I have no clue how do do it though. I have Apple's X11 and Fink installed (as well as the dev tools). If anyone has this running and could help me set it up, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

http://wallpaper.deviantart.com/ I get 99% of my wallpapers here. Take some time to sift through the various catagories. Some really high quality stuff here.

    Make .csh executable?

When I do that, it launches the terminal and crashes it. You mean to rename it to .term, right?

    Make .csh executable?

Is there a way to make a .csh script executable via the finder? I've written this simple script: #!/bin/csh open /applications And I want it to run through the finder. I'm able to get it to work through the command line, but OS X recognizes it as a Photoshop shape file or something like...

    Unsupported Monitor Resolution

Actually, I doubt it's the video hardware. If he has at least 16MB of VRAM, he should be able to support resolutions higher than what he's running at. However, his LCD is probably not as good. His LCD probably has fewer pixels than his friend's and can't handle the higher resolution.

    PowerPod?

I do remember hearing of a rumor about a special edition iPod for DJs... But honestly, what would they offer in a "Powerpod"? I don't think you really need a huge processor in the iPod(although they have made the iPod run Linux). A larger hard drive in there wouldn't be enough of a reason to...

Can't boot from CD!! - My Powerbook G4 17 inch is very, very sick

I had similar issues when I first got my 12 inch Powerbook. It seemed to have been caused by me using a program to copy VCDs onto my computer. I got the files, but my computer started messing up with similar symptoms. I eventually had it sent into Apple, and they replaced the whole thing with...

    Post your desktop!

Here is mine. It took me about a week to get it the way I want it, and I'm pretty happy with the way it is now. (I'm on a 12' Powerbook, so 1024x768 is the maximum resolution i can use)

    Remove finder from the dock?

Well, as you can see, I have aliases on the desktop. The symbol is a little annoying at times, but I don't like messing around with the system files too much. I was hoping that there was a program that could do it for me, but I guess it doesn't really matter. I'm happy with the way it looks...

    Remove finder from the dock?

Yes, that is Apocalyptica. Good stuff  Actually, those aren't two clocks, one is how long Airport has been connected to the internet. Strange coincidence :D

    Remove finder from the dock?

Actually, I figured it out. Sort of. Transparent Dock. Nifty little prog that lets me change the colors of the dock, make it invisible, activate the hidden features, etc. I has this option to make the Finder removable from the dock, like permanent applications, only that you can remove it...

    Alias arrow

Customizing my desktop, and they can be an eyesore. I have it set up so that instead of my HD mounting on the desktop, I have an alias so that it doesn't change position after a reboot.
